Position Description
Ole Miss Athletics strives to advance a championship culture that develops, educates and empowers our student-athletes while providing a premier experience for the Ole Miss family.
We are seeking a dynamic individual to manage the complete operations of the Rifle program.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide strategic leadership and daily oversight of the women's rifle program.
• Plan and conduct training sessions, practices, and competitions.
• Recruit and retain highly skilled student-athletes who are committed to both academic and athletic success.
• Develop and implement strategies to foster individual and team development, including mental and physical conditioning.
• Manage program operations, including budgeting, equipment, travel, scheduling, and team logistics.
• Promote a culture of integrity, sportsmanship, and excellence consistent with the values of The University of Mississippi and the Patriot Rifle Conference
• Collaborate with academic support staff to monitor student-athlete academic progress and support graduation goals.
• Engage with alumni, donors, and the broader campus community to support program visibility and fundraising.
• Maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with NCAA, Patriot Rifle Conference and institutional policies.
Working Conditions:
• Evening and weekend work required.
• Travel for competition and recruiting.
• Ability to lift and transport equipment as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree (Master's preferred).
• Minimum of 3 years of collegiate-level coaching experience, preferably at the Division I level.
• Demonstrated success in recruiting, developing, and retaining top-tier student-athletes.
• Deep knowledge of NCAA rules and the competitive landscape of collegiate rifle.
• Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
• Commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive team culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Previous head coaching experience at the collegiate level.
• Competitive shooting background, either as a coach or former athlete.
• Experience managing team budgets and logistics.
• Familiarity with the mission and values of the Patriot Rifle Conference and its emphasis on academic and athletic balance.
