Our team is hardworking and truly cares about students. Our team is expanding, diverse, and open to new ideas and or concepts to help better serve our students. Our team is committed to providing exceptional customer service to all students.
We are serving students by utilizing zoom, phone, and email. We also only currently advise two programs and our staff is trusted to complete the tasks at hand.

Role Summary
Advises students on academic matters, such as course selection and degree requirements, while maintaining appropriate confidentiality to ensure students reach academic, personal, and professional success.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advises students and potential students concerning admission requirements, degree requirements, course selection, and related functions.
- Communicates with various offices to ensure compliance with current academic requirements and procedures.
- Participates in activities associated with the monitoring academic progress, registration of students, and maintenance of student record files.
Skills needed: patience, time management, energetic, kind, quick learner, organized, willing to accommodate students.

Examples of Work Performed
- Advising students on course selection and degree requirements.
- Analyzing and auditing students degree progress using SAP.
- Responding, evaluating, and completing Intent to Graduate forms.
- Completion of Veterans Term Approval & MS Tuition Grant Assistant Forms.
- Responding to calls and emails concerning course selections.
- Referring students to the appropriate areas concerning internships,study abroad, transfer credit, simultaneous approval, course appeals, and course overload requests.
- Setting up appointments with students.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Receives, processes and responds to academic inquiries according to established policies and procedures.
2.Serves as a main point of contact for students providing basic organizational information about educational options, academic requirements and institutional resources and addressing their needs.
3.Counsels students in identifying and assessing their interests, skills and values to match appropriate fields of study and career options and refers students to appropriate institutional resources.
4. Maintains confidentiality and accurate student records according to program policies.

Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous advising experience
- Experience with Box, SAP and myOleMiss
- Experience with Degree Finalizations, Degree Audits, and experience with processing Intent to Graduate forms.
- Experience with maintaining student records & confidentiality.
- Experience with using Zoom and Acuity.
